Milan's impressive Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnia 'Leonardo da Vinci' (Science and Technology Museum) can be found on the south-western side of Milan. Boasting one of the world's leading science and technology collections, Milan's Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnia 'Leonardo da Vinci' is housed in the 16th-century former Olivetan monastery of San Vittore since 1947.
The Milan Science and Technology Museum museum contains an enormous number of exhibits, located in four different buildings. Some of the main attractions at the Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnia include the first mechanical counting machine, state-of-the-art computers, displays about astronomy, acoustics, trains, air and sea travel, cinema photography, and much more besides.
The Leonardo da Vinci Gallery, in Milan's Science and Technology Museum, contains many interesting wooden models of his numerous inventions, together with his elaborate drawings and historic sketches. Many of the exhibits and attractions in this Milan museum are interactive, making them particularly appealing for young children.
